Lost Vape coils, the right UB family for each device

Every family of Lost Vape coils carries the UB prefix, six on the brand’s coil page and more on its device pages. Several codes repeat, with an M1 in both the Ultra Boost and UB Ultra ranges, and some recent pods use no separate coil at all. Neither the name of the mod nor the resistance value settles the question. The right part depends on the tank, pod or cartridge, so that is where to start.

Lost Vape coils by device, the short answer

Each UB family matches a list of devices published by Lost Vape. Centaurus tanks and the larger Centaurus kits take UB Max coils, the 80 W pod mods and recent AIO devices take UB Ultra coils, and the Ursa pods take UB Mini coils. The table groups the devices named on each family’s official page.

Lost Vape coils family by family

Each family of Lost Vape coils has its own value range and recommended use. The wattages and draw styles below are the ones Lost Vape prints on its coil pages. DL stands for direct lung, DRL for restricted direct lung and MTL for mouth to lung.

Centaurus tanks and larger kits, UB Max

The X1 at 0.15 ohm is rated at 80 to 120 W, the X2 at 0.2 ohm at 60 to 80 W and the X3 at 0.3 ohm at 40 to 60 W, all three for DL. The first two use Ni80 mesh, the third KTR mesh. Recent kits, from the Centaurus BT200 to the Thelema Q200 Pro, ship V2 editions of these coils.

80 W pod mods and AIO devices, UB Ultra

The V4 generation of UB Ultra coils comes in 0.15 ohm (60 to 80 W, DL), 0.2 ohm (40 to 60 W, DL) and 0.3 ohm (30 to 40 W, DL and restricted direct lung). Lost Vape pairs them with the Centaurus Q80, G80, B60 AIO, B80 AIO and PM100, and with the Thelema Urban 80. On the G80 they sit in the UB AIO pod.

First generation pod mods, Ultra Boost

The Ultra Boost coils, which the official page calls V2, include the M1 at 0.3 ohm (30 to 40 W), M2 at 0.6 ohm (20 to 28 W), M3 at 0.15 ohm (40 to 70 W) and M4 at 0.2 ohm (40 to 60 W), all mesh coils for DL. There is also a 1 ohm MTL coil with conventional wire (8 to 15 W) and a rebuildable deck.

They fit the Thelema 80W, Q-Ultra, Gemini Hybrid 80W and BTB 100W, the Ursa Quest Multi and Grus 100W kits, and the UBX, Ursa Pod Tank and UB Pod Tank.

Quest kits, UB Pro

UB Pro coils aim at higher power, up to 90 W according to Lost Vape. The P1 at 0.15 ohm is rated at 70 to 90 W and the P3 at 0.3 ohm at 60 to 70 W, both for DL.

They appear on the lists for the Cyborg Quest 100W, Thelema Quest 200W, Ursa Quest Multi and Grus 100W, and the Thelema Solo 100W takes them in its UB Pro Pod Tank. The Ursa Quest Multi and Grus 100W therefore sit on two lists, UB Pro and Ultra Boost.

Ursa pods and Thelema GO, UB Mini

UB Mini coils cover mouth to lung and restricted direct lung. The S3 at 0.6 ohm (16 to 21 W), S1 at 0.8 ohm (12 to 17 W) and S2 at 1 ohm (9 to 13 W) are rated for DRL and MTL, while the S4 at 1.2 ohm (9 to 11 W) and S5 at 1.4 ohm (6 to 9 W) are for MTL only.

Lost Vape lists them for empty Ursa cartridges, the Ursa Nano, Nano Pro, Nano 3, Baby, Baby Pro and Baby 3, the Thelema GO and the UB Mini Pod Tank.

UB Lite Pod Kit and Ursa Mini, UB Lite

Designed for the UB Lite Pod Kit and also listed for the Ursa Mini, UB Lite coils come in seven values. The L1 at 0.4 ohm (20 to 30 W) and L3 at 0.8 ohm (12 to 17 W) are rated for DL, the L6 at 1 ohm (10 to 15 W) and L5 at 1.4 ohm (8 to 10 W) for MTL.

The L7 (0.3 ohm), L8 (1.2 ohm) and L10 (0.6 ohm) appear in the catalogue with no range published on the series page.

Centaurus Nano MTL, UB MTL

The Centaurus Nano MTL tank and the Centaurus M120 take UB MTL coils at 0.8 and 1.2 ohm. Their pages give 7 to 11 W for the 0.8 ohm and 12 to 17 W for the 1.2 ohm, the reverse of the order seen in every other Lost Vape family. Until that is corrected, go by the range printed on the coil.

Lost Vape coil codes that repeat

Lost Vape reuses the same codes across families. M1, M3 and M4 name both Ultra Boost and UB Ultra coils of the same value, yet the Ultra Boost M3 is rated at 40 to 70 W while the UB Ultra V4 at 0.15 ohm is rated at 60 to 80 W. The brand presents them as two separate platforms with different device lists, and none of its pages says they are interchangeable.

UB Pro coils also change name from page to page. The platform list calls them M1 (0.15 ohm) and M2 (0.3 ohm), while the series page and the Thelema Solo 100W page call them P1 and P3. When ordering, the family and the value matter more than the code alone, much as with Voopoo, where the number in a Voopoo coil code does not always give the resistance.

Cartridge pods, the spare part is not a UB coil

Several recent devices are described by their cartridges rather than a UB family. The Ursa Cartridge V3 comes in 0.6, 0.8 and 1 ohm, the Centaurus Ori 35 ships with 0.4 and 0.8 ohm ORI cartridges, and the Astara with 0.15 ohm (50 to 80 W) and 0.3 ohm (30 to 50 W) cartridges. Their pages mention no UB coil.

For these devices the part to rebuy is the cartridge, unless the manual says otherwise. The Ursa range keeps an alternative with its empty cartridge, which takes UB Mini coils and lets you pick the value.

Five detail questions that come up once the family is known.

Does the Centaurus G80S take UB Ultra coils?

Not according to Lost Vape. The G80, the two-pin version, switches between the UB AIO pod, which takes UB Ultra coils, and Boro tanks. The G80S, the single-pin version, is presented with Boro tanks only.

Can you build your own coil on a UB platform?

Yes, on two families. Lost Vape sells an Ultra Boost RBA deck and a UB Pro RBA deck, both rated for 0.15 to 3 ohms.

Why do two UB Mini coils from one pack have different bases?

Lost Vape ships the same UB Mini coil with either a hexagonal or a round base, at random, according to its official page. Both shapes are the same coil.

Which e-liquid suits UB Ultra coils?

Lost Vape recommends an e-liquid with 50 to 70% vegetable glycerine for all three values of the V4 generation.

Do Lost Vape tanks come in UK-compliant 2 ml versions?

Yes. UK rules cap refillable tanks for nicotine e-liquid at 2 ml, and Lost Vape offers the Centaurus Sub Ohm V2 in 5 ml and 2 ml, the UB AIO pod in 5 ml and 2 ml, and the UB Mini Pod Tank in 3 ml and 2 ml. The coil family stays the same whatever the capacity.

Choosing Lost Vape coils by device, not by code

With Lost Vape, the name of the mod is not enough, and neither is the code on the coil. The right starting point is the tank, pod or cartridge, which the brand ties to a UB family. The value is then chosen from that family’s list, according to the stated draw style and the power the device can deliver.

When two official pages contradict each other, as with the UB MTL coils, the range printed on the coil is still the most reliable guide. Take a photo of it before binning your last pack of Lost Vape coils, family and value included.
